Today I spent three hours stressing about a major technical issue I was facing. Having spent three days at the Naace Conference 2012 I had made pages and pages of notes, all of which were stored on the iPad I took with me.
Naturally, I had failed to back up, sync or make a copy of these notes and after several failed attempts to start up the iPad this morning, I was presented with this screen:

Fearing the worst for my notes and the articulation of my thoughts, I Googled away for an answer I didn’t get. After hours of plugging into the mains and the MacBook with which it is synced, and several hard resets, the device magically sprung back to life and I could transfer the notes before disaster (inevitably) struck again. Hallelujah!
Things I’ve learnt today: back up everything! Without exception.

Thank goodness for that. Perhaps luck was on your side afterll? Lesson learnt. I will buy CDs to make backups ASAP to avoid the same thing.
CDs!!? How very 90s!
Oh so lucky, I’ve cried many a tear because I hadn’t backed up my data and it was lost… Like the old bandergraph, keep it in triplicate
You only lose data once
After that everything gets multiple redundant backups!
Very lucky. Won’t make the same mistake again!
Use iCloud!
